Articulating Booms - Electric and Bi-Energy
Terex offers Bi-Energy and Genie DC machines which are emission-free and provide quiet operation for the most sensitive work applications. For instance, in industrial settings where the machine should travel significant distances, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits and versatility of a diesel powered generator using a 48 Volt DC machine.
Some of the important characteristics provided by this combination consist of up, over and out positioning capabilities for complete flexibility. Also, the zero tail-swing provided by most models, combined with the tight turning radius offers easy maneuvering through standard doors and narrow aisles.
The proportional and drive controls provide the equipment with precise boom positioning and smooth drive performance. For emission free and quiet operation suitable for sensitive environments, there is a 48V DC electric drive system. There are jib boom models on the market to function with an extra working range for particular jobs. On non-jib models, there is a self-leveling platform which rotates to either side at an angle of 90 degrees.
Articulating Booms - Diesel Engine
The Terex Genie is great for outdoor construction applications and industrial applications. This particular model offers engine-powered articulating Z booms that combine extreme lifting versatility and up, out and over positioning capabilities. The outreach offered by this type is the best in the market.
The diesel engines with articulating booms provide zero tail-swing on the majority of models and have a tight turning radius. These machines are great for maneuvering in confined locations. Furthermore, they offer exceptional torque, grade and terrain maneuverability and utmost power. The diesel engines are quiet in general also. The majority of models have full time drive positive drive traction system and active oscillating axle to offer great flexibility on surfaces that are uneven and rough.
High ground clearance is offered in 2 or 4 wheel drive models, while the rough terrain models are desirable for any company's fleet. The jib boom types are available and provide extra range capabilities. On non-jib types, the self-leveling platform also rotates to 90 degrees on these models as well.
