Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing great height and versatility. The arm, or crane, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the load to great heights. Regular lift trucks aren't able to move the cargo towards and away from the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually used in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is necessary.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is utilized for storing systems that don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specifically to hoist employees. The basket attaches to the forks on the forklift, held in with a strap or chain which is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
